Islam (arapski: الإسلامal-islām)"predanost jednom Bogu" je monoteistička religija koja je nastala na Arapskom poluotoku u VII. vijeku, danas je druga najrasprostranjenija religija na svijetu sa nešto više od 1.3 milijarde sljedbenika. Također je religija sa najbržom tendencijom širenja u svijetu. Muslimani vjeruju u postojanje samo jednog Boga (Allah as.w.t.) te vjeruju da je Muhammed(Božiji mir i blagoslov na njega) Njegov rob i poslanik. Zajedno sa judaizmom i kršćanstvom Islam je jedna od tri abrahamske ili ibrahimske religije.
Na arapskom jeziku, islām znači "predanost" (jednom Bogu,Allahu s.w.t.) i opisan je kao Dīn (arap. dîn el-islâm), što znači "način života" ili "religija". Etimološki, derivirano je iz istog korijena kao i Salām, "mir" (čest pozdrav među muslimanima). Riječ musliman je također povezana sa riječju Islām i znači "onaj koji se predaje Bogu". Sljedbenici islama, poznati kao Muslimani vjeruju da je Bog (ili, Arapski : Allāh) poslao svoju direktnu objavu čovječanstvu Muhammedu, sallallahu alejhi ve sellem, preko meleka Džibrila (Gabrijela) kao što je poslao objave ostalim poslanicima, Ademu, Nuhu, Ibrahimu, Musāu i Isāu(Božiji mir i blagoslov na njih). Muslimani vjeruju da je Kur'an posljednja od Allahovih s.w.t. knjiga objavljenih čovječanstvu, da je potpuno tačna (bez grešaka) i da je nepromjenjiva, što obećava i Allah s.w.t. a u djelo sprovode ljudi koji Kur'an znaju napamet, ti ljudi zovu se hafizi. Budući da su prethodne knjige koje je Allah s.w.t. slao ljudima, a to su: Suhufi - Ibrahimu a.s., Tevrat - Tora - Musau a.s. (Mojsiju), Zebur - Davudu a.s., Indžil (Evanđelje) izmijenjene od strane ljudi ili djelimično zaboravljene (prepričavane) Allah s.w.t. je poslao Kur'an da bi ukazao čovječanstvu na pravi put . Kur'an se do danas sačuvao u izvornom obliku, zahvaljujući izuzetnoj pažnji da se ne izmijeni niti slovo u njemu. Temelj islamskog vjerovanja nalazi se u Šehadetu (svjedočenju) da nema drugog Boga sem Allaha s.w.t. i da je Muhammed s.a.v.s. Božiji rob i Božiji poslanik. Pripadnost islamu iskazuje se slijedećim riječima (transkript Arapskog pisma), da bi neko postao Musliman mora jezikom izgovoriti i srcem vjerovati slijedeće riječi : Ešheddu en la illahe ilallah we ešheddu enne Muhammeden abd'uhu we resuluhu. ("Srcem vjerujem i jezikom očitujem da nema drugog Boga osim Allaha, i vjerujem i očitujem da je Muhammed Božiji rob i Božiji poslanik.") Šest osnovnih članova vjerovanja 1.Vjerovanje u Boga. (Amentu billahi) 2. Vjerovanje u meleke. (we melaiketihi) 3. Vjerovanje u Božje knjige. (we kutubihi) 4. Vjerovanje u sve Božje poslanike. (we rusulihi) 5. Vjerovanje u Sudnji dan. (we'l jewmil ahiri) 6. Vjerovanje u sudbinu*, vjerovanje da sve što biva, biva sa Allahowom swt voljom i određenjem (we bil kaderi hajrihi we šerrihi minAllahi teala) Spojeno u jednu rečenicu glasi: "Amentu billahi we melaiketihi we kutubihi we rusulihi we'l jewmil ahiri we bil kaderi hajrihi we šerrihi minAllahi teala." "Ja vjerujem u Allaha i meleke i Knjige i poslanike i Sudnji dan i vjerujem da sve što biva, biva sa Allahovom voljom i određenjem." Osnovni principi islama Šehadet: Svjedočenje da niko osim Allaha swt nijevrijedan obožavanja i da jeMuhammedsavs Njegov rob iposlanik. Namaz: Obavljanje pet dnevnih namaza. (salah). Zekat: Davanje Zekata (milostinja) Post: Post svakog dana mjeseca Ramazan a od zore pa do zalaska sunca. Hadždž: Hodočašće uMekkuza vrijeme mjeseca Zul Hidže koje je obavezno jednom za vrijeme života onima koji imaju mogućnost da ga obave. |
